We’re grateful for the visit of Sister Donna Markham, the President of Catholic Charities USA, who was in Cáritas of PR to support and accompany our work after Hurricane María. In the morning she visited the Centro de Envejecientes Nuestra Sra. de Lourdes, from Cáritas of PR where the participants warmly received her and could see the workshops of clinical health aids provided to our participants by Doctors Natalio Izquierdo, Rosalina Valcárcel and Miguel Arrieta. We were also joined by members of the Miami Medical Team: Dr. Manuel Arzugaray, Manuel Rodríguez and Mr. Mario Roque. Then she attended the Cáritas headquarters, there she shared with the participants, staff and volunteers; visited our facilities, and held a press conference where Sister Donna presented a generous donation that will be of great benefit to all our people affected by the passage of Hurricane María. Also present was Dr Arzugaray, Kim Burgo and José Sánchez from Catholic Charities USA; attorney Frankie Chévere; Mr. Fred Sosa, Nereida Narváez, participants of our assistance after the disaster; and the staff and volunteers of Cáritas of PR were also present. Thanks Sister Donna! We love you and the entire team of Catholic Charities USA for their closeness and love in such a difficult time that we live on our island.
